The day opened with a welcome address and formal introductions by our spokesperson, setting a tone that would carry through the entire visit. One by one, the room was introduced — the Permanent Secretary, the Special Adviser to the Federal Minister, the entourage, and, of course, The Queen herself. Every name spoken carried the weight of the work and journey behind this mission.
The Permanent Secretary Speaks
Dr. Mrs. Marian Ismaila took the floor first, and her words were personal and powerful. She shared that she had watched the pageant, followed the Queen’s story, and seen exactly what she believed the world needed: beauty with a purpose.
The Queen Takes the Floor
When Queen Tamunosoye stepped forward, she held the room.
She spoke about her journey — where she came from, what she stands for, and why giving back to her community and to the next generation sits at the very center of everything she does.
It was here that she unveiled the Beyond Labels Initiative — her beauty-with-a-purpose project — and humbly asked the Ministry for its support, partnership, and blessing.
A Message the Queen Will Never Forget
Then came the Minister’s address.
Hon. Minister Ayodele Olawanade welcomed the entourage warmly, and gave The Queen a moment that will stay with her for a long time.
With grace and conviction, he told her:
“When God is involved in something, no one can stop it.”
He reminded her that if he could rise to sit where he sits today, then she, too, can go out into the world and bring the glory back to Nigeria.
Recognition and Celebration
The session closed with a photo opportunity, followed by the Minister presenting an award to The Queen, along with complimentary packages for her entourage — a fitting recognition of the excellence they represent.
The entourage responded from the heart, calling the Minister an inspiration to Nigerian youth and making a promise: they will not fail. They will bring the crown home.
