There are visits you make out of duty, and there are visits that feel like coming home. My recent courtesy call on the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities was firmly the latter. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at home.

The Heartbeat of Beyond the Labels

Perhaps that sense of belonging isn’t a coincidence. Beyond the Labels has always been about one thing at its core: seeing people for who they are, not the limitations society places on them. Inclusion isn’t an afterthought for me — it is the heartbeat of this journey.

Learning to Say Hello

One of the highlights of my visit was learning a few sign language greetings and using them to communicate with some of the amazing people I met. It was a small gesture, but it reminded me of something important: inclusion begins with a willingness to learn, connect, and make others feel seen.

Building an Alliance

I am truly grateful for the warm reception, and even more excited about the alliance we’ve begun to build. Knowing that the Commission believes in this vision — and has pledged its support — is both encouraging and empowering.

Looking Beyond the Labels

As Miss World Nigeria 2026, I remain committed to using my office to advocate for a society where every person, regardless of ability, is valued, included, and given the opportunity to thrive. Because when we look beyond the labels, we begin to see the beauty, strength, and humanity in one another.
